Search Marketing (Google Ads) Simulation

In Novela's first digital marketing simulation, based on Burberry, learners develop customer insights, select keywords, set bids, and create your own ads in Google Ads. Novela’s ultra-realistic auction engine gauges ad quality, calculates AdRank, and provides granular trend data from simulated competitors. Students compete in a live leaderboard and develop digital marketing skills through hands-on practice!

This digital marketing simulation includes two challenges that teach different elements of the marketing syllabus. The first teaches the core principles of search marketing and customer insights, while the second adds an extra dimension with increased competition and advanced customer segmentation.

Social Media Advertising (Meta Ads) Simulation

In Novela's second digital marketing simulation, learners build a realistic campaign for both Instagram and Facebook Ads to hit ambitious sales goals for a direct-to-consumer beauty brand. Students engage with customers, create audience segments, master automated bidding, and create ads that resonate with their chosen customer segments. All the while, they learn to use AI tools to inform their decisions.

Novela's state-of-the-art auction mimics Meta Ads' function and AI feedback systems guide students towards robust learning outcomes.

Content Strategy & Social Media Simulation

In Novela's latest digital marketing simulation, learners must launch a new pet calming product for Aura Cosmetics (the same brand as our Meta Ads simulation above).

Working with an AI copilot, students analyse audience data, develop a content strategy, then launch content across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and more!

Students learn how to research, plan, and then execute a content marketing campaign in an interface that mimics the latest tools including Buffer, Hootsuite, and Sprout Social.

Perfect for any digital marketing or social media class at undergraduate or postgraduate level.

"One of the most impressive aspects was actually watching results play out in real time, as they adjusted their decisions. It was interesting for me to observe how they think, what they prioritise, and which parts of their strategy they chose to change first when the outcomes weren’t what they expected."

Dr Suncica Vukovic, University of Montenegro
